Bloodless

12:40 am | College | War | Comments: 0

We’ve been talking about war in International Relations class, and that’s really my cup of tea. I’ve elected to do a research paper on technology and how it has effected and will affect war. I’m going to take it beyond the “Revolution in Military Affairs” to the fundamental concepts about war and its implications.

It’s not hard to imagine, some time in the future, whole armies of missiles, drones, and attack robots. How would this change our concept of war? Would it make it easier? Would such wars come to a faster conclusion with less lives lost and less collateral damage done? Alternatively, will such armies ever be actually feasible, or simply the stuff of science fiction forever? Would having the power to kill but not be killed be too much of a responsibility to bear? These questions and more will be answered before it’s all said and done. Stay tuned.

Think Again

5:13 pm | SIO | Thoughts | Comments: 0

You thought it was over. You thought it was merely a distant yet fond memory. You were, as usual, completely wrong! SIO yet lives, to the chagrin of small rodents everywhere. While I’m not considering this a new era, I have lots of random, senseless, and egotistical things to say which well doubtless be said at some point. Doesn’t that excite you?

There are some people out there that just don’t get it. Like the people that get after you if you don’t use proper punctuation and stuff like that in internet communications. Naturally, I’m all for what’s proper and what’s right. However, I do alot of typing on a day-to-day basis. I therefore believe it is my liberty to take shortcuts when engaging in non-essential and conversational typing. If this seems reprehensible to you, it’s possible that you are in the same category of people that eat watermelon rinds and pee on the toilet seat with malicious intent. You don’t want to be like them, do you?
